As Shivering Songs continue to roll out details of their 2015 event, one recent announcement included a new festival venue for the January 2015 event – The Urban Almanac General Store.

“The gang at Shivering Songs were looking for a different type of venue this year and reached out to us,” said Andrew Wilkins, owner of the popular downtown business.  “We jumped at the opportunity to participate. It’s a wonderful festival.”

In past years, Shivering Songs has hosted performances in a wide variety of city venues, ranging from the traditional to the not-so-traditional.  Using Fredericton’s historic Wilmot United Church as the festival’s main stage venue, performances have also taken place at The Boyce Farmers Market, the Capital Complex and up until last year, The Cedar Tree Cafe.

This year’s inclusion of The Urban Almanac General Store fits perfectly with the festival’s unique pairing of music and community, coming at a time when many need it the most.

“Our store has an open relaxed feel,” said Wilkins, “which we feel will be perfect for a smaller intimate performance.”

The retailer will host a performance by two outstanding Canadian singer/songwriters, Bry Webb and Gabrielle Papillon on Friday January 23, 2015 at 6:00pm.  Event and ticket info.
