Josh Bravener presents a different side of the blues.
For a different take on the Harvest experience, local musician Josh Bravener will be hosting an evening of country music at Wilser’s Room in The Capital Complex tonight. His event, The Grand Ole Wilsers promises an evening highlighting some of the genre’s biggest names.
“I wanted to create something where people could go and listen to songs by Hank William, George Jones Buck Owens and that kind of thing,” said Bravener. “I’m pretty young but over the few years I’ve been attending Harvest, I’ve noticed that the jazz and blues scene is only a small part about what Harvest Jazz and Blues actually is. I am a huge fan of old country music and I don’t think a showcase of this kind has ever been done before during the festival.”
Bravener and his fellow Hypochondriacs will act as the house band for the event, which will feature several guest vocalist.
The Grand Ole Wilsers kicks off at 8 p.m.
