Raynemaker Productions announce huge concert to celebrate the end of filming for The Capital Project.

Raynemaker Productions will soon cap off seven months of filming for its much anticipated documentary film and web series, The Capital Project. After shooting more than 100 hours of performances and interviews with Fredericton area musicians past and present, the Fredericton based film and production company will celebrate the end of filming by throwing a party at the Fredericton Boyce Farmer’s Market on Thursday November 2. The event will feature a full evening of performances interlaced between big-screen teasers of the final film.

“We are having a large concert to celebrate the ending of production and we are going to film the entire event,” said Tim Rayne, the film’s director and co-owner of Raynemaker Productions. “We want the audience and the music community to come out and celebrate the great music scene we currently have here in Fredericton. We are looking to get a food truck or two and Greystone will provide the beer – local food, drinks, and music.”

Inspired in part by the Beastie Boys’ 2006 concert film, Awesome, I Fuckin’ Shot That!, the team behind the project are encouraging everyone to document the evening using their phones and cameras. The collected footage will then be edited to form the final minutes of the full-length documentary.

“There were a few different approaches and ideas I had on how I wanted the film to finish, but at the end of the day, a big final concert for The Capital Project made sense,” said Rayne.

“The Beastie Boys did an innovative concert film a few years ago where they gave out 50 cameras to the audience and cut the concert with their footage. Now that everyone walks around with cameras on their smart phones, I thought it would be fun to invite the audience to shoot footage of their experience at the show with their friends. We will be selecting some of the footage to be in the credit sequence and maybe other parts of the series,” said Rayne. “We will be setting up a Drop Box account so people can send us their videos. We are pretty excited about it!”

The evening will feature performances by The Hypochondriacs, Kill Chicago, Little You Little Me, Motherhood, Janoskii, Some Dads, Crossroad Devils, Footloose and Fancy Free, First Words, Monark, Levi Rowan, Ceeb & NFP.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door, and may be purchased online at thecapitalcomplex.com or at the etixnow self-serve kiosk at Gray Stone and Grimross Breweries.
