Featuring the Saint John String Quartet

SJ_Quartet-340x430As a part of Symphony New Brunswick’s Virtuoso concert series, the Saint John String Quartet will be playing at St. Thomas University April 23, in the McCain Hall recital space, room 101 at 7:30pm.

The Saint John String Quartet’s active concert schedule of over 125 concerts a year has taken them throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, and China. Their most recent CD recording of Jacques Hétu’s String Quartet No. 2 attracted a JUNO nomination in the Classical Composition of the Year category and won MusicNB’s Best Album of the Year, while their previous CD won the ECMA for Best Classical Album of the year. The Quartet has played for the Prime Minister of Canada, Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth the Second and at prestigious festivals such as the Tochigi Music Festival in Japan, the Arcady festival in the USA and the Forbidden City Festival in Beijing China.

The quartet is made up of violinists, David Adams and Danielle Sametz; violist, Christopher Buckley; and cellist, Sonja Adams.
