NB Sports Hall of Fame Media Release
FREDERICTON (CNB) – Leadership and Legacy is the theme of the 2016 New Brunswick Heritage Fairs and the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame (NBSHF) has plenty of sports heroes to inspire Heritage Fair projects across the province. “We challenge students to tell the stories of our New Brunswick Sports Legends, especially in light of this years’ theme as each and every NBSHF Honoured Member has created a Legacy through Leadership” said Jamie Wolverton, Executive Director of the NB Sports Hall of Fame.
The most insightful and creative projects have a chance to win the NBSHF’s Sport Legacy Award, awarded annually to the best New Brunswick sports themed Heritage Fair project in each region.
Students can base their Heritage Fair project any one of the more than 230 Honoured Members of the NBSHF whose passion for sports has left a legacy of excellence and leadership that shaped New Brunswick’s sports heritage. From the Olympics and Paralympics to the Commonwealth Games, from the Pan American Games, Jeux Francophonie and the Canada Games to the National Hockey League, Canadian Football League and Major League Baseball, New Brunswick has its own sports heroes who have made their mark on the international and national stage.
