Thursday

Matthew Good returns to the city this week in support of his 9th solo album, Chaotic Neutral, along with supporting musician Scott Helman.  We don’t often get the “really big show” treatment here in Fredericton, outside of Harvest Week and the occasional show at The Boyce Farmer’s Market.  For this performance, Good and Helman will perform at the Capital Exhibit Centre on Smythe Street.  Known primarily for craft shows, animal exhibits and country music, the CEC has played host to several touring acts including Ice T and The Misfits.

As many of you probably know, Good is somewhat of a Canadian rock and roll icon.  The Matthew Good band was one of Canada’s most successful alternative rock acts throughout the mid to late 90s before dissolving in 2002. Since that time, Good has further affirmed his place in Canada’s musical lexicon releasing several successful albums as a solo artist.

Supporting act Scott Helman is a bit of a sensation as well having signed to Warner Music at the tender age of 15.  His debut dropped last year and he’s been touring ever since.

Ben Caplan performs as part of a special pair of Shivering Songs pre-festival concerts.  Caplan is no stranger to these parts. He’s practically grown up on Fredericton stages. Over the years he has graced stages at The Capital, The Charlotte Street Arts Centre, Wilser’s Room and has even once played the part of Santa Claus for the FeelsGood Christmas party!  Read more about both Shivering Songs concerts happening this weekend.
