Fredericton, NB – What better way to spend a Sunday night than listening to some of Fredericton’s favourite local artists, business owners and sister in law’s reading some fun and hopefully cringe worthy things they wrote as a kids, all in support of Solo Chicken’s the coop?

On Sunday November 29th Solo Chicken will be hosting a very fun fundraiser at Wilser’s Room in the Capitol Complex in support of their next creative process. The evening will feature short readings by familiar local faces such as David Coon from the Green Party, Tania Breen of Theatre New Brunswick, Ryan Griffith from Next Folding Theatre Company and local artist Natalie Sappier. They are laying their personal scribbling’s bare so that the coop members can fly again!

the coop, which is a new performance initiative aimed at supporting both professional and emerging New Brunswick performance artists through the creation of new works, was launched by artists Lesandra Dodson and Lisa Anne Ross this spring. Since launching, the coop began creation of their new work, A Record of Us during a two-week residency at The Charlotte Street Arts Centre in May 2015 and is currently ensconced as company/artists in residence at St. Thomas University. In January 2016 they will take up residency at Fredericton’s Playhouse where they will continue their creative process. They will finish this technical residency in July of 2016 and will premier their new work on The Playhouse stage.

Helmed by Ross and Dodson, the members of the coop are Jean-Michel Cliche, Alex Donovan, Ian Goff, Alexa Higgins, and Lexi MacRae.
