Simon Daniel’s forthcoming album Nightcrawler is shaping up to be something special. If the first single is any indication of what’s to come, Daniel is about to make a serious impression on audiences here in New Brunswick and with any luck, across the country.
It’s been three years since Daniel’s debut EP was released via the New Brunswick francophone label, Le Grenier musique. The six track EP showcased Daniel’s mix of French and English songwriting backed by some exciting arrangements from Sébastien Michaud with horns, strings and more than a few tasty guitar licks.
Turning his attention towards more electronic production this time around, the title track from Nightcrawler introduces a whole new palate of instrumentation for Daniel to explore.
“Myself, being a night owl, that’s when my imagination lets loose and when I’m most creative,” said Daniel, explaining the inspiration behind the album’s title track. “Everything is possible in the night, the anonymity provided by obscurity enables me to drop my inhibitions and to let my animal instinct take over.”
Nightcrawler will be available on vinyl, CD and as a digital download on October 2.
