Alan Jeffries’ Bluegrass Brunch

Alan Jeffries’ Bluegrass Brunch is back! Enjoy a brunch style breakfast will be served along with great tunes.

Alan Jeffries was raised on bluegrass. After years touring as a guitarist with David Myles and other renowned acts, Jeffries returned to his bluegrass roots to launch debut solo album, Coffee ’til Midnight. The album which won him the 2014 East Coast Music Award for Roots/Traditional Solo Recording of the Year. Hailed as a “fleet fingered guitar phenom”, Jeffries shows are filled with fast-picking solos, heartbreaking harmonies, and a level of musicianship that you won’t soon forget.

Songwriters Intensive Showcase With Host Erin Costelo

The Songwriters Intensiveis a professional development opportunity for up and coming songwriters in New Brunswick. Through a partnership between Shivering Songs Festival and Charlotte Street Arts Centre, we’ve acclaimed Halifax songstress Erin Costelo to work collaboratively with a dozen of New Brunswick’s emerging singer/songwriters.

Throughout the weekend, artists are immersed in a safe, supportive environment in which they experiment, take risks and learn. They work on singing, chord progressions and more advanced aspects of songwriting such as lyrical integrity, crafting a style, performing, etc. Through working with an experienced, acclaimed songwriter, and in collaboration with fellow musicians, participants have the opportunity to fast-track their skill development and receive real-life advice from someone who was once in their shoes.

The weekend is capped off with a live performance at Charlotte Street Arts Centre featuring the workshop participants.
