Promoting his new album Parallel Lines, New Brunswick-based singer-songwriter Robert Thomas and his band The Session Men will tour their acoustic roots-folk-Americana show throughout The Maritimes, April and May 2022.
Robert Thomas has written songs for some of the biggest names in music. Throughout his career as a published songwriter with Capital/EMI, Thomas penned songs for Kenny Rogers, Bonnie Raitt, Joe Cocker, Sheena Easton, The Dixie Chicks, and Roch Voisine to name a few. A few!
Originally from Halifax and currently living in New Brunswick, Thomas will be playing several shows around the Maritimes this spring, sharing selections from his vast catalog with audiences in Fredericton, Halifax, New Glasgow, Moncton, Florenceville-Bristol and Baie Verte.
But wait! There’s more. His band, The Session Men, are one of the few lineups performing in the Maritimes today to rival Thomas and his many accolades. Featuring New Brunswick musicians Ray Legere on fiddle/mandolin/guitar/backing vocals, Jon Arseneau on guitar/backing vocals, and Maxime Forbes on keyboards/backing vocals, the members of this group have collectively played with talents such as Alison Krauss, Tony Rice, Doc Watson, Rita MacNeil, The Rankins, Natalie MacMaster, Michelle Shocked and The Chieftains.
Performing all original material from Thomas’ extensive publishing repertoire, Robert Thomas and The Session Men’s performances blend evocative songwriting with consummate multi-instrument musicianship to a degree rarely seen ‘round these parts.
