Full EP Coming in March

Property is a solo project by New Brunswick musician Charlie Harding. He began making music under the moniker after accepting an invitation to perform at an event organised by Sharktooth Records’ Stuart Buckley this past summer.  In the months that followed, Harding composed several loop-based electronic songs, which will be released in March 2015.

As an artist, Charlie began getting seriously involved in music while performing with the bands Cellarghost (Saint John) and Beach Body (Fredericton) in early 2013, and has been consistently playing shows in throughout the province ever since.

In preparation for his first Property release, an EP titled Hulls Cove, Harding will be releasing a few tracks online.  Crystallize was posted earlier this week, a track Harding describes as, “an abstract personification of depression and its ways of dragging people into stillness.”

“The Hulls Cove project is meant to serve as a reflection on the hopefulness that can come with revisiting places from childhood and the curative effects of nostalgia,” said Harding.  “In the present, we are left to be constantly pushing forward.  There is no rest.  With all of our needs, desires, pain, work, and growth it is sometimes easy to lose all joy in life, to sink deep into ourselves and forget how to be happy.  It is in these moments that it is important to remember what pure joy feels like, to remember that our ability to create these moments is not lost in the past.  We’ve just forgotten how to suspend our struggles for that moment and rest.”

Hulls Cove is about the effects of nostalgia, the struggles of life and winter in New Brunswick.”
