Pakistan’s Azaab play Moncton on national tour

Islamabad-based death metal band Azaab unveil new lineup with Canadian tour. Playing Moncton’s Xeroz Arcade/Bar on May 13.

Following the departure of their original vocalist, who moved to Saudi Arabia for work, and their bassist preparing for relocation, Azaab faced the challenge of finding new members in the midst of a serious shortage of death metal musicians in Pakistan. Fortunately, through a connection from a common friend, the band discovered Hassan Munir, a talented vocalist, and Sid, a skilled bassist, both based in Toronto, Canada. The introduction marked the beginning of a new era for Azaab.

“After much planning and anticipation, we’re excited to announce that we will be hitting the road across Canada this May,” said the band in a written statement detailing the upcoming tour. “Canada seemed like the obvious choice for our first tour since two out of four band members are based in Canada. Canada has an amazing metal scene and we couldn’t be happier with playing live there.”

A third Canadian band member will round out the lineup for the upcoming tour with Tyson Blaste (Plague, Becomes Astral) filling in on drums.
