The Sadies and Julie Aubé are the first acts announced for Paddlefest 2018 – May 17-21 in St. Andrews.
Paddlefest have made their first artist announcement of 2018. Today, the St. Andrews’ spring music, art and outdoor activity festival have announced The Sadies as this year’s Friday night headliners with supporting act Julie Aubé and her band.
The Sadies are a iconic Canadian rock band with almost 25 years of touring and albums behind them. They mix a number of genres including country & western, roots, alternative and punk and have performed with everyone from Neko Case to Blue Rodeo to Gord Downie to Neil Young. They are considered to be one of Canada’s best live acts, and we’re thrilled to have them play our humble little festival alongside one of New Brunswick’s best emerging voices.
Julie Aubé is known to many as a member of Les Hay Babies. Last year, she released her impressive debut album, Joie de Vivre.
Rather than mining the same musical territory travelled by the band, Aubé takes a decidedly more rock and psychedelic approach – think Joe Walsh and Jefferson Airplane – to her music. – Music Nerd Chronicles
Paddlefest passes go on sale Thursday March 8.
