Featuring The Wilmot Writers Group

odd sundaysAnnouncing the next odd sundays, Fredericton’s longest-running, semi-monthly, randomly-hyphenated, poetry-and-more, reading series, convening next Sunday, March 15, with Wilmot Writers Group—and a grand open set. Come because you love words and how they connect—with one another and with you. Bring along a friend, buy a drink and/or lunch and settle in for a good listen. This all takes place at Molly’s Coffee House, located at 554 Queen Street.

The Wilmot Writers Group just celebrated its 10th anniversary. The members are unusually faithful; once hooked they come regularly. We are Carolyn Atkinson, Jo-Ann Fellows, Norm Laverty, Nancy Bauer (charter members), Elizabeth Savoie, Rose Burke, Ted Colson, Edie Colson, Lucille Caseley, Sassimint Grace, and Kathie Goggin. Elizabeth, Rose, Sassimint, and Jo-Ann have recently published works of fiction. Members also contribute to the Wilmot newsletter. We meet the second and fourth Thursdays of the month in the church parlour in the afternoon. Mecca Laverty is an honorary member because she bakes us a cake every meeting.

Future odd sundays events:

  • March 29, 2015: Leigh Kotsilidis, Gabe Foreman (poets from Montreal)
  • April 5, 2015: Kathy Mac (local poet and dog whisperer)
  • May 3, 2015: Beth Powning (novelist, Sussex area), Jennifer Houle (local poet and new mother), and Michael Pacey (local poet)
