Opening Reception November 15, 2014

unnamedSaturday, November 15 marks the opening reception of this vibrant show of buzzing-fresh abstracts from Betts, a native of Moncton, NB.

A Canadian Abstract Expressionist, Betts earned a BFA from NSCAD University in Halifax, studying under Garry Neill Kennedy in his senior year. He has exhibited in over 60 group and solo shows in Canada, France, Costa Rica and Iceland and participating in artist residencies all over the world.

This show on the ground level of the Fredericton Convention Centre features work created in the jungle and on the tundra, as well as brand new work from his new Montreal studio, never before seen.

“By combining the graphic edge of mark making with the sublime nature of the colourfield, I aim to create a surface that is both gently dissonant and hyperactive.” — Jared Betts

Please join Ingrid Mueller Art + Concepts from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fredericton Convention Centre, located at 670 Queen Street, next to the Playhouse to welcome these electric canvases  — an energizing post script to your Saturday downtown routine!
