Music Runs Through It presents Morgan Davis

Category: music 179

Canadian blues legend Morgan Davis plays Corked Wine Bar in Fredericton April 19.

It’s been a while since Morgan Davis was last in town. An avid traveler, musician and storyteller, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say Davis has most likely played on every stage between Halifax of Toronto.

Born in Detroit, Davis moved to Canada in 1968 where he has since dedicated the last 50 years of his life to performing and teaching blues music. Davis is, without a doubt, a legendary figure in Canadian blues lineage.

Over the years, Davis has shared the stage with some of blues’ biggest names including Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, Albert King, John Hammond, Albert Collins, and Eric Bibb.

Davis has also received numerous awards during his career in music including several Maple Blues Awards, Toronto Blues Society Awards and his 2004 album Painkiller won the Juno for Blues Album of the Year.
