The recent announcement of upcoming performances from Rick Fines, Sherman Downey and Twin Flames mark a return to form for Fredericton promoter Emma Chevarie.
It’s not as if she hasn’t been actively engaged in the city’s live music scene over the past year or more, but it has been a while since Music Runs Through It founder Emma Chevarie has announced a series of upcoming shows.
Chevarie has been promoting live music events in the Fredericton area for over 15 years now. Following several one-off performances over many years, Chevarie launched the Music Runs Through It concert series in 2015 with the intent of curating regular performances specifically catered to a listening audience. With shows happening roughly every other month, Chevarie was successful in building a strong, dedicated audience for local and touring musicians.
The arrival of COVID-19 forced a number of cancellations and postponements including her first international touring series. Her series, Across the Pond, was supposed to pair-up New Brunswick musician Julie Aubé and U.K. musician Luke Jackson for dates in New Brunswick and England during 2020. Those dates were eventually pushed back a year and have now been punished back to 2022.
But despite numerous challenges, Chevarie is back at it once again, recently announcing upcoming performances with Rick Fines (August 24), Sherman Downey (September 8) and Twin Flames (October 13).
“It feels exhilarating and exciting as I hop back into presenting live music after so long,” said Chevarie, on her upcoming schedule. “I feel sure these shows will bring us some healing through this connection we’ve been lacking for too long. I cannot wait to see everyone smiling, laughing and grooving along with the artists.”
