Nadia Francavilla performs music by Pierre Boulez and others, February 11 at Memorial Hall.
As a composer, conductor and teacher, Pierre Boulez made a decisive contribution to the development of music in the 20th century and inspired generations of young musicians with his pioneering spirit. The inclusion of this concert in the 2016-2017 season coincides with his passing on January 5th, 2016 at the age of 90.
Resident musician Nadia Francavilla performs his piece Anthèmes 2 for solo violin and live electronics in a concert featuring other well-known 20th century composers from Europe including Calm Like a Bomb by Jesper Nordin.
