Show of hands. Who remembers when Matt Andersen used to play The Capital with his band Flat Top? I’m going back decades with this one. But before he became the internationally renowned performer he is today, Andersen was a regular on stages in Fredericton belting out countless covers and blowing audience’s minds with his voice, his guitar playing, and his unparalleled stage presence. I’m not kidding when I say he could sing any song you requested. It still blows my mind. He couldn’t be stumped. Back then, everyone knew his time on New Brunswick’s tiny bar stages was limited. Now he plays on the biggest stages in the country. Imagine that.

In advance of his forthcoming album, The Big Bottle of Joy, Andersen and his band will be playing five shows around the Maritimes this spring, two of which will happen here in New Brunswick.
