The first of two back-to-back holiday weekends offers several options for the retail weary.
Enter the holidays with two ears-a-ringing! Stop by The Caveau in Moncton on Friday night for a taste of loud in-your-face music and get those holiday aggressions out of your system before you have to sit down with your family for an uncomfortable meal.
The Caveau’s holiday spectacular, Merry Pissmas!, will help you ring in the holiday season in style.
The evening will feature the galloping live debut from Piss Horse, a new group comprised of members of several past and present Moncton rowdies including Hope, Iron Giant, Fear Agent, Dischord and Phoque Sakes.
Joining Piss Horse for their first live performance are two of New Brunswick’s noisiest exports: Gallactus and Deep Fryer.
Gallactus sit among the forefathers of New Brunswick stoner metal and were one of the first New Brunswick bands to release music through the Dartmouth, Nova Scotia label Diminished Fifth Records (RIP). While their live performances are infrequent these days (their last show was also at The Caveau back in July), the band will surely sludge their way into your holiday hearts.
Fredericton’s Deep Fryer are also making an appearance. Earlier this month the band released their second EP, Rockin’ Right Hard, four tracks of blistering hardcore steeped in humour and inside jokes.
If you’re in Moncton on this, the night before the night before the night before Christmas, The Caveau is where it’s at.
