Jane LeBlanc Filmmaker Award Now Accepting Applications

Filmmakers are encouraged to apply for the 2021 Jane LeBlanc Filmmaker Award. Deadline for applications is September 1. 

The NB Film Co-op proudly announces the Jane LeBlanc Filmmaker Award for 2021. This award is presented in honour of Jane LeBlanc, a New Brunswick woman who lived life to the fullest and courageously took action in making her dreams a reality.

This year’s award has increased for 2021. It is now valued at $2,080.00 (for first or second time NB resident filmmakers). Here’s what the prize looks like:

  • $200 in workshops/training from the NBFC (2022)
  • $800 cash from The LeBlanc Family and generous donations
  • $1000 in equipment and post services from NBFC
  • $80 (full membership for two years) from the NBFC
  • Workshopping of winning screenplay

To Apply

Applicants are asked to submit a 4-5 page script for a video poem, experimental, drama or comedy along with a short paragraph talking about their hopes and dreams; their personal connection to the project and how this grant will further their artistic practice.  Apply by email to info@nbfilmcoop.com before midnight, September 1. 

The New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative is a registered charity with a charity number as well as a non-profit and you will receive a charitable tax receipt by snail mail when you donate. Please consider donating to this very worthwhile filmmaker award.
