Dartmouth-based musician Ian Janes performs as part of Music Runs Through It’s Up Close & Personal Series, November 7.

Music Runs Through It have been offering unique midweek music experiences since launching its Up Close & Personal performance series back in May. The idea is a simple one – curated concerts in a listening room style followed by a Q&A with the artist. It’s a win-win for artists and music lovers alike, providing musicians with a valuable midweek performance opportunity (often seen as a rarity for touring musicians) and a one of a kind experience for local music lovers who get to engage directly with performers following the show.

Dartmouth-based musician Ian Janes is the next musician slated to take the stage in this series with a performance at Dolan’s Pub on Wednesday November 9.

A singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer, Janes’ latest release, Yes Man, has been met with immediate and overwhelmingly positive critical acclaim. The record was given 4 out of 5 possible stars by Rolling Stone France, chosen as ‘disc of the day” by Le Journal de Montréal, was nominated for four 2017 Music Nova Scotia awards and nominated for Pop Recording of the Year at the 2018 East Coast Music Awards. In March 2017 Ian’s song Can’t Remember Never Loving You was used to close the mid-season finale of the hit TV show, Nashville.
