The City of Fredericton has been hosting free outdoor concerts during the summer months for close to 30 years.  That’s pretty remarkable.  Over the years they’ve welcomed some of the area’s most promising up-and-coming acts and have helped place talented young musicians before an open and appreciative audience – a priceless act of encouragement for any young performer.  They have also provided us with the opportunity to experience some of the regions most established and respected performers in a most relaxed setting.  It’s no wonder our city has such an appreciation for music.  For many Frederictonians, music has been a part of our city’s culture for a long as they can remember.

This year’s concert series is now underway with regular performances happening at the Main Street/Nashwaaksis Commons Amphitheatre and in the heart of downtown at Officer’s Square.  And once again, we’ve got a lot to look forward to with acts spanning multiple genres, tastes and interests.

Some of this year’s performers include Fredericton rock/blues act Kill Chicago, the award-winning duo Tomato Tomato, Acadian indie-folk performers Cy and the godfather of the Saint John music scene, Brent Mason.

The city also welcomes the return of several “summer concert regulars” including the Downtown Blues Band, the Fredericton Concert and Marching Band as well as the Fredericton Society of Saint Andrew Pipe Band.

It looks like we’re gearing up for another great season of free music! Check out the full line-up below:
