Fest Forward Announce 2015 Lineup

Festival will showcase artists from across the province at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre Nov. 13 & 14, 2015.

UntitledFest Forward has announced its 2015 festival lineup.

“I would say this is the most solid lineup we’ve had for this festival, in that it’s devise and interesting,” said Kaylee Stevens of the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, the event founders and annual hosts. “We had 60 or so submissions and I was flabbergasted by the amount of talent that exists in the most random places in New Brunswick.”

The annual event aims to “move New Brunswick music forward”, by helping provide New Brunswick musicians with the tools needed to properly market their music to a larger audience. As a result, Fest Forward may be the single most important music festival for emerging New Brunswick musicians.

“When they leave they will have had an experience playing to a full auditorium, have a full bio/EPK prepared, professional photos taken, a single recorded at CHSR and more,” said Stevens. “In one weekend they’ll have what they need to start promoting their music.”

Many of the province’s top music festivals including Folly Fest, Sappyfest, and The Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival have partnered with this year’s festival to offer performance spots during the 2016 festival season.

“We partnered with several different festivals and each artist that takes part will go through a series of professional development workshops. In the end, many of this year’s performers will be prized with a slot in a festival.”

While other festivals choose to include professional development opportunities as an additional perk festival attendees may take part in, Fest Forward brings these important elements to the forefront of its annual programming by providing a full two days of workshops and sessions.

“I think a lot of these bands don’t have what they need yet to really start getting their art out to a larger audience so when they leave it will be a huge jump ahead for them.”

All festival performers will have an opportunity to play before an audience with public showcases planned for both the Friday and Saturday nights during the event.

‘This is going to be a great lineup and I think everyone will work really well together.”
