FeelsGood, Fredericton’s art-music-community collective are gearing up for their seventh annual Christmas party. This celebration has become one of the group’s largest events, bringing together a slew of creative types for a full-on occupation of The Capital Complex – all in the name of good times.

“All three floors of the complex will be filled with art and music and all sorts of fancy people having a wonderful time,” said FeelsGood’s Mike Humble. “We are also starting a new tradition, hosting an arts and crafts market on the afternoon of the event at SameAsForever Studio, at 204 Regent Street. Artisans from across the Maritimes will be there, giving you a chance to pick up a unique handmade gift for your friends and family.”

The evening party will feature a dozen acts ranging from the laid back to loud and all points in between. FeelsGood’s inclusive approach to community building has always been at the forefront of the group’s efforts. All are welcome and all are appreciated.

“Here at FeelsGood, we do our best to bring an eclectic mix of music to all our events,” said Humble, “and having blues-rock, local legends, the Ross Neilson Band and hippie disco jammers Gordon Gets Lost headline the two live music rooms at the Christmas Party lives up to that norm.”

“Joining Gordon Gets Lost at Wilser’s Room will be Fredericton’s brand-spanking new project, Before the War, Saint John folk rockers, Salmon Jazz, the beautiful folk stylings of The Barrowdowns and folky sisters, The Grassy Mountain Ladies.”

Downstairs at The Capital stage, Ross Neilsen will be joined by up-and-comers, Elephants Gerald and city favourites, Josh Bravener and the Hypochondriacs.

Live DJ sets will take place in The Phoenix, featuring Daryl & His Boogie Buttons, Taco Supreme, Scout and Foggyswoggle.

And this is just the music. There’s also a strong art component to the evening.

“For the art portion of the night, we have assembled a great list of local emerging artists, some who have shown their work at FeelsGood events and others that are new to the scene,” said Humble. “Returning artists The Big 3, No Fun Zone, Ben Allain and Mike Erb will be joined by Emily Brown, Joanna Nickerson, Amna Khwrshid, Michael Sinclaire and Rose Porter. The art will be for sale and will be spread out amongst the three rooms of The Capital Complex.”

Doors open at 7:00pm and there will be complimentary wine and snacks early in the evening. The first 50 people through the door will receive a special gift from FeelsGood and Picaroons Traditional Ales.
