New exhibit opens October 3, 2015
The Emerge Artists’ Collective will be exhibiting their work at the Fredericton Public Library for the month of October. The exhibit will open Saturday, October 3 from 1-3 p.m.
For almost a decade, the Collective has featured an eclectic group of artists ranging from oil and acrylic painters, sculptors, illustrators, mixed media artists, film makers and photographers.
“The show is basically our first show as a reformed group,” said Larry Holder, a member of collective. “Emerge has been around for many years but we recently had a large change-over in members. This space came available very quickly so we decided that the show would not have a theme and we would all use existing pieces from projects we are working on or have done.”
Past EAC exhibits have been held at Government House, the Andrew Laura McCain Gallery in Florenceville, Gallery Connexion and a variety of other local galleries and venues.
This current exhibition will introduce work from a number of new members.
“Their are seven artists in the group,” said Holder, “and we have one older member left. I joined in 2012, one from 2013, one from 2014 and the rest are new to the group as of this year. Each of us work in different mediums so it’s a very diverse show.”
The Fredericton Public Library exhibition will display works from Allison Green, Mark Cameron, Larry holder, Tanya Thompson, Dawn Steele, Michael Doucet and Biff Mitchell.
