Saint John troubadour David R. Elliott has shared the second single from his upcoming album, Common St.
Following the release of Something About The Way, which appeared back in June, Good Morning Heartache finds Elliott continuing to explore the confines of pop structures and arrangements. At times sounding disjointed, like a collection of studio outtakes, the song takes ownership of its unlikely form as it progresses through its four minute running time. The vocals are strong. The accompaniment, steady and unexpected.
If this is any indication of what’s to come from the forthcoming album, we’re in for a real treat. No boundaries. No convention. Elliott is proudly cutting his own path.
