Category: music 202

Tune in to CHSR 97.9 FM on New Year’s Eve for a serious trip down memory lane 2017.

Fredericton’s community/campus radio station will be celebrating 2017 on New Year’s Eve with a special live holiday countdown recapping the 100 most-played albums of the year.

Rosie Morning host Roger Jean and Instant Breakfast’s Tammy Hayward will lead the eight-hour broadcast, looking back over the past twelve months of playlists and individual show programming.

“Local and Maritime artists got a big boost [this year] when Homemade Jams came back,” said Jean, “as well as female and female fronted bands thanks to Her Turn. Blues was well represented as well.”

CHSR’s Top 100 Countdown begins December 31 at 4 p.m. and runs until midnight.

CHSR 97.9 FM is a volunteer based radio station broadcasting out of the Student Union Building on the University of New Brunswick campus. For the past 56 years, the station has played a major role in supporting local and region music.
