2014-06-12.afi.handthatfeedsOn Friday Oct. 30th at 7pm at 180 St. John St., Fredericton, Cinema Politica Fredericton will screen the next film of its 2015-2016 season, “The Hand That Feeds” (Robin Blotnich & Rachel Lears, 2014, 85 min.).

A positive and inspiring story of undocumented yet empowered migrant workers demanding labour justice in New York City. These workers face sub-legal wages, dangerous machinery, and abusive managers who will fire them for calling in sick. In 2012, they fought back and won. One of Cinema Politica Fredericton’s organizors was in NYC supporting them!

This film is sponsored by the Fredericton District Labour Council. Members of the FDLC will be on hand to inform the (optional) discussion following the film.

Films are free to the public. Donations are welcome to help with network membership fees. (Washrooms are not accessible, sorry!)
