New music from city favourite, Cedric Noel.
It’s a good day. Fredericton musician Cedric Noel has just released a new track today. Baby, Baby Please is the first track to surface from his forthcoming, yet untitled album expected to drop in early December.
“I haven’t done an album of my own in about two years,” said Noel, who has been busy recording and performing with several projects over the past few years including Redwood Fields, Nuages and Sentimentals.
“This album is going to be called Repetition. I just felt it was time to make another record and compile all the songs I’ve been playing for the past few years, plus some new ones written very recently .”
Not one to let a moment of inspiration pass him by, Noel began recording this latest batch of songs just a few days ago, handling all the instruments and programming himself from the comfort of his apartment.
“I started recording this past weekend,” he said, “and have a bunch of tracks very close to completion so I felt it was apt to release something to let people know what to expect, because even though I’ve been playing these songs for a while it’s pretty different from anything I’ve done on the recorded side of things .”
With an impressive collection of original music posted on his bandcamp page, Noel’s songs and compositions remain unpredictable in direction and influence, yet embody a sense of honesty so few have achieved.
