“Split” is out now on CD and digital from the Cerealbowl and features artwork by Corey. J Isenor.

A love affair between East Coast folk and blues songwriter Mike Brunelle and Maritime folk rock band Caribou Run, this record is an introduction to the uniqueness and talent of both projects, as well as a showcase of their knack for collaboration.

Recorded over a winter in Mike Brunelle’s barn studio in rural Nova Scotia, the tracks range from the melancholic and bitter to the cheeky and celebratory. Brunelle’s, “Time” is a raucous reality check, while Caribou Run’s peppy, springy “PEI” is a wistful sigh.

The parties involved had such a blast recording this EP that Mike Brunelle subsequently joined the lineup of Caribou Run, lending his prowess on trombone to their live formation.

With more and more Nova Scotian shows lined up, and a plan to tour the East Coast later in the year, the band are gearing up for a full length, slated for next year.
