Call for Submissions – Sweet Decay

sweetSweet Decay: Seeking Vibrance in the Ephemeral

“Things may fall apart and fade away, but through passion and positivity we find meaning in temporality.”

On behalf of the CSAC, and through UNB’s Faculty of Arts, we are now accepting submissions for Sweet Decay. This exhibition, created and managed by the CSAC Arts Intern Jamie Carbno, will open on March 18th and run until April 11th, 2016. Submissions will be accepted from February 2nd, 2016, until February 29th, 2016. Submissions are only open to artists currently enrolled in post-secondary education.


Work should fit the theme of the exhibition. Any two-dimensional medium is welcome as long as it can easily be hung on the wall of the Penny Gallery.

General Submission Guidelines:

Theme: Sweet Decay

Age: Post-secondary education students

Medium: Any medium of choice, but piece must be able to hang on the wall. 
Size: Minimum Size – 5” x 8”. Maximum Size – 24” x 24”.

Hanging Conditions: Frames are not needed but there must be a way to hang the piece on hooks.

Submitting Information: Pieces should be labeled on the back of the work with the artist’s name and title to be easily labeled when on display.

Display Period and Events: The exhibition will run in the Penny Gallery at the Charlotte Street Art Centre from March 18th – April 11th, 2016. An Opening Reception for this exhibition will be held on March 18th at 5pm.
