Symphony New Brunswick will return to the concert stage this season with a condensed ensemble of musicians and series soloists.

Symphony New Brunswick have announced plans to deliver a 20-21 season despite the many challenges brought on by COVID-19 and related health and safety measures currently in place. In an announcement made on August 20, SNB indicated it would be moving ahead with a new season to celebrate of the 70th anniversary of classical orchestral music in New Brunswick.

The Symphony will deliver a program of six Virtuoso Series performances and a special silent film event with music by Andrew Miller in addition to three Main Series concerts that will take place in October, November and December on stages throughout the province.

Main Series concerts will be performed in Fredericton at the Playhouse, Moncton at the Capitol Theatre and in Saint John at the Imperial Theatre. Each Main Series concert will feature a guest conductor as SNB continues its search for a new Music Director.

In adherence to the rules of safety and fiscal responsibility, SNB will perform with an orchestra of about 20 of its most elite musicians and with a series of soloists from NB, many of whom are also SNB regulars.

SNB will determine its performance possibilities for 2021 and reach out to the public with more exciting performances very soon.

The season will be framed around the theme – New Brunswickers discovering New Brunswick.

“We are absolutely sure that our audiences will be thrilled and proud to hear and see what has developed inside NB over the past 70 years of orchestra music in the province,” said SNB organizers in today’s release.

Tickets will be on sale for past subscribers from September 1 and for general release from September 10 at your local theatres. Due to limited seating, regular subscriber seats may not be available. For this reason also, SNB are asking patrons who may subsequently be unable to use tickets to return them to the theatre.
