This weekend’s roundup includes a downtown comedy showcase, a drag show, a lunchtime talk at the library and tons of live music.

Friday

A Night of Comedy with Jimmy MacKinley & Friends at The Tipsy Muse Café. Our very funny comics take to The Muse stage for a special night. You won’t find a better deal on a night of laughter. 7 p.m. $10.

4x4x4 Tour at The Capital Complex. A crushing night of heavy music featuring some of the east coast’s heaviest bands – Death Valley Driver (Charlottetown, PE), Dischord (Moncton, NB), Hero’s Last Rite (Fredericton, NB)and Orchid’s Curse (Halifax, NS). 10 p.m. $10.

Film Screening – They Didn’t Make It. The filmmakers invite you to the studio for a screening of They Didn’t Make it, a local feature film shot with no budget and all volunteer crew by the talented Joel Thompson. 241 Canada Street. 7 p.m. $5

Guest Librarian Talk: Fredericton Sexual Assault Centre. FSAC will be leading a one-time Lunch & Learn titled “Getting It Right — Responding to a Sexual Violence Disclosure”. When someone shares their experience of sexual violence with you, how you respond can influence what they choose to do next. Many are not sure what to say or do when faced with a disclosure. It is important to listen, provide non-judgmental support, and relevant information. In this presentation, you will learn essential tips on what to say and do when receiving a disclosure. 12-1 p.m.

Saturday

Brick House Babes presents Floodlines at The Captial Complex. Our sensational seasonal search for Fredericton’s hottest drag entertainer is back with a spring competition to crown the next Brick House Babe. $6.

Piper & Carson and Moonfruits at The Tipsy Muse Café. An evening of harmony and heart-song in English and French – songs of life and death, compassion, and elevating the stuff of everyday life. 7 p.m. $10.

Spookinatural (An Improv Show) at Wilser’s Room. Hot Garbage Players are getting spooky in this “monster of the week” style parody! Playing off of popular TV shows like “Supernatural”, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, and “X-Files”, HGP is ready to track down whatever unspeakable horror is plaguing our city in this episode and end it… all within a reasonable 60 minute slot! 7:30 p.m. $7.

Goth Night at The Capital Complex. Get your dark clothing ready for this one. It’s going to be the best time Fredericton has ever had for a DARK event with performances by The Gothsicles, Jack Buster, Jaguar Knight a special guests.  10 p.m. $12-$13.

International Museum Day & the Saint John String Quartet at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. Celebrate International Museum Day at the BAG! The Beaverbrook Art Gallery will be open with admission by donation, with a special musical presentation by the Saint John String Quartet at 3pm (performers: David Adams, Danielle Sametz, Christopher Buckley, Sonja Adams.) 10 – 5 p.m.

Sunday

Pale Mare + ScumLord + A Lucid Nightmare at The Capital Complex. Toronto’s PALE MARE are bringing their riff filled onslaught to The Capital Complex with local dudes ScumLord and heavy metalists A Lucid Nightmare. 8:30 p.m. $7.
