TUNB Presents: The Romeo Initiative by Trina Davies

Category: stage 233

Julianne Richard directs Theatre UNB’s first on-stage show of the 2021 fall season.

In a war as cold as this, everyone wants to be loved. In 1970s West Germany, an introverted secretary named Karin meets the handsome Markus and their romance blossoms despite the benevolent forces of war constantly in the background. But soon enough, sex, love, suspense and betrayal hijack this story into a tale that is as reminiscent of James Bond as it is of Jane Austen.

Directed by Julianne Richard and featuring performances by Kelly McAllister, David Charters and Naomi McGowan, the show is being produced as an independent thesis project by TUNB’s DRAM4170 students and Fredericton theatre artists Julianne Richard, Chris Rogers, Mary Walker and Amanda Thorne.

The Romeo Initiative will be performed at Memorial Hall, UNB, from October 28th-30th at 7:30pm nightly. Tickets are $10 General, $8 Senior/Underemployed and  $5 Student. Please note that proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required upon entry.
