Darlene Love

With a career that began in the early ’60s, Darlene Love continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her sensational performances and warm, gracious stage presence. Love started out as a background vocalist with the Blossoms, performing with the likes of Tom Jones, the Righteous Brothers, Dionne Warwick, Marvin Gaye and Elvis Presley. She went on to emerge as a star in her own right, with Billboard hits such as “He’s a Rebel,” “The Boy I’m Going to Marry,” “Wait ‘Til My Bobby Gets Home” and the No. 1 holiday classic “Christmas Baby Please Come Home,” a song she’s performed annually for 30 years on The Late Show with David Letterman. She has also starred in Broadway hits like Hairspray and Grease, and even played herself in, credited as Broadway’s first “jukebox musical.”

Dance Fredericton presents

The Nutcracker

Nutcracker2012-300x200Presented by Dance Fredericton and featuring guest soloists from Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company. The Nutcracker is a full-length ballet which showcases original choreography created for Dance Fredericton, elaborate costuming and the classical score by Tchaikovsky. This fairy tale ballet opens with the festive Victorian party scene on Christmas Eve in the Stahlbaum home and later follows Clara and the Nutcracker Prince on their journey to the Land of the Sweets. In the Magical Kingdom they are feted with delightful dances from around the world, including the stunningly beautiful pas de deux of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. This timeless classic will delight audiences of all ages.
