Science East will be hosting the Above & Beyond Gala and silent auction Saturday April 29 at the Delta Hotel in Fredericton to raise the funds required to purchase a brand new travelling planetarium.
On Saturday, April 29, Science East will be hosting the Above & Beyond Gala and silent auction at the Delta Hotel in Fredericton to raise the funds required to purchase a brand new travelling planetarium.
Science East’s mission is to inspire and inform through hands-on science experiences. Being able to utilize a newer, larger planetarium, the Science East team would be able to enrich their outreach and in-centre programs. New Brunswick has little to no access province-wide to planetarium facilities. Through this fundraiser, Science Centre hope improve access by planning outreach activities and travelling across the province to different communities and schools.
“As the first of its kind, our Gala is going to be centered around light and how it behaves,” said the Science East team in announcing this event. “We will be presenting an exclusive look for all guests to our newest light and optics collection of exhibits that will reside at Science East and accompany us abroad. Our Chief Science Officer, Michael Edwards, will set the tone of the cocktail-style evening with some scintillating science shows. We will have a silent auction, cocktails and delicious hors-d’oeuvres to top off the evening.
