Red Panda Productions will cap off its first summer theatre season with a production of Agatha Christie’s famous murder mystery, The Mousetrap, produced in partnership with Spearhead Theatre.

Last month Red Panda Productions announced plans to produce three plays over the summer in downtown Fredericton.  The news brings a welcomed addition to the city’s long-running summer theatre lineup that centres arounds the NotaBle Acts Theatre Festival and the now traditional Shakespeare in the park series, Bard in the Barracks.

The company has already begun auditions following earlier announcement of An Ocean of Evergreens by Jena McLean (June 17-20) and Alan Jay Lerner’s 1960 musical, Camelot (July 22-25).

As part of the initial announcement, the Red Panda team shared the news that they would be teaming up with Spearhead Theatre to produce a third show to end off their inaugural summer season. On April 1 it was announced that these two emerging theatre companies will team up for a co-production of The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie, with performances running from July 29 to August 1.

The Mousetrap is the world’s longest running play. It opened in London’s West End in 1952 and ran continuously until March 16, 2020 when COVID brought the world to a standstill. During it’s 72 year run, the play received more than 27,000 performances.

Upcoming Performances:

June 17-20 | An Ocean of Evergreens by Jena McLean | Location TBA
July 22-25 | Camelot by Alan Jay Lerner | Location TBA
