Louisbourg Choir perform at Wilmot United Church this weekend

Louisbourg Choir presents Canadian Tapestry with Colours of Acadia at Wilmot United Church on Mar. 11 at 2 p.m.

The Louisbourg Choir, under the direction of Monique Richard, presents Canadian Tapestry with Colours of Acadia, a concert showcasing the musical and literary work of Acadian and New Brunswick artists. Joining the choir will be Carl Philippe Gionet on piano and a string quartet consisting of Lucia Rodriguez and Marie-Andrée Gaudet on violins, Robin Streb on viola, and Emily Kennedy on cello.

Canadian Tapestry with Colours of Acadia, is the continuation of the Mosaïque canadienne virtual mini-concert that the choir broadcast on its YouTube channel in 2021, while its public concerts were on hiatus due to the pandemic. This concert will feature texts by Herménégilde Chiasson, Raymond Guy LeBlanc and Emma Haché, set to music by Frédéric Chiasson, Richard Gibson, Jean-François Mallet, Mathieu Lussier and Aaron Jensen. New works by Rachel Léger, Carl Philippe Gionet and Richard Gibson will be premiered as part of this project. Compositions by James Fogarty, Jeff Enns, Timothy Corlis, Seán Dagher and Donald Patriquin will complete the program.
