Through all the stress and uncertainty we’re all experiencing at the moment, it’s been inspiring to see the different ways our community has been adapting. From the variety of resource lists that have been compiled and shared online to help with everything from filing an Employment Insurance claim to where to buy fresh vegetables, there’s a lot of good to be found.
Fredericton Tourism are currently running a social media campaign #SupportFredLocal in an effort to let everyone know which local businesses are still operating and how we can all show our support. Good People Coffee Roasters
Launched in 2014, Good People Roasters are a small batch roastery located on York Street in downtown Fredericton. Part of the Urban Almanac family, Good People offer light, dark, decaf and barrel aged organic beans. They currently offer delivery seven days a week, free with the purchase of two or more boxes. When Nancy and Jon of Paradise Imports began roasting and serving coffee at their shop on York Street they quickly developed a cult following. That was 13 years ago. In that time they’ve continued to operate one of the best off-the-beaten-path coffee hideouts in the city. Cell phone use discouraged – conversation encouraged. Mill Town Roasters
Newcomers to the city’s coffee roasting community, Mill Town Roasters began roasting on the upper floor of The Coffee Mill uptown on Smythe and Prospect. They’ve since moved downtown and opened what has become one of the busiest coffee shops in the downtown core. Whitney Coffee Company
Fredericton’s coffee roasting O.G.s, Whitney Coffee Company have been at it a long time. For the past many years they have been the go-to coffee spot for Saturday morning shoppers at the Boyce Farmer’s Market.
