Submissions are now open for Fest Forward, the Charlotte Street Arts Centre’s annual artist development weekend. Created to aid emerging musicians in building their individual marketing infrastructure through workshops, EPK development, networking and showcase opportunities, Fest Forward has become a valuable training ground for New Brunswick singers and songwriters of all genres and backgrounds.

“We will be offering up great professional development workshops again this year with the goal of equipping emerging acts with the tools needed to take their career to the next step,” said Eva George, program director with the Charlotte Street Arts Centre.

“I have witnessed a lot of folks grow their careers by applying their learnings from these weekends and using the tools offered. Throughout the weekend there are always a lot of lightbulb moments.”

The 2021 event will team participating artists with established guest performers for two public showcase performances in the Jim Myles Auditorium. Over the course of the three day event, participating artists will also partake in workshops offered by representatives from Music NB, She Said Feck Records and others. All participants will also receive professional photos, take part in a music video shoot, gain a 2022 festival spot at one of New Brunswick’s many music festivals, and receive a free year-long membership to both Music NB and the East Coast Music Association.

“I’m looking forward to lots of peer to peer bonding, networking, relationship building and of course, kick ass talent,” said George.

Motherhood; Tortoise Hare & The Millionaire; Jerry-Faye; McKinley, Morrison & Williams and Quinn Bonnell are just a few of the artists to participate in previous editions of Fest Forward.

This year’s event will take place October 1-3. Deadline for submissions is September 17. Interested artists can APPLY HERE.
