St. Thomas University in seeking submissions from Atlantic Playwrights for ONE ACTS and EXCERPTS of longer works to be directed, performed and filmed by our 4th Year Directing Seminar students.  Each student in the course will select a play that they spend the winter semester analyzing, prepping, auditioning, rehearsing and producing.   The productions will be staged, filmed and ‘streamed live’ on Facebook in March 2021.   We are seeking works in all stages of development and from playwrights in all stages of their career, with a special emphasis on seeking works from BIPOC playwrights.

Details:

Maritime Playwrights:  We play fast and loose with definitions, so ‘Atlantic’ is anyone who has ever felt like the Atlantic Region is home…

ONE ACTS – We are looking for a variety of lengths of ONE ACTS.  (Although if you have a short one, send it our way!)

EXCERPTS – We are open to receiving excerpts of longer works if you feel that excerpt can stand alone as a performance.  (Please only send the excerpt and not the entire play.)

Please only submit one play | Submissions can be in PDF or .doc form. | Applicants whose works are chosen for production will receive a $50 honorarium.

Please email submissions or questions/concerns to:  Lisa Anne Ross, laross@stu.ca

Deadline for Submissions:  Monday December 28, 2020 (Midnight)
