Branch Out Productions will stage a production of Dave Simpson’s The Naked Truth, May 26-28. Auditions take place Feb. 22.
Branch Out Productions has announced auditions for their upcoming production of Dave Simpson’s The Naked Truth. When five very different women sign up for Gabby’s pole dancing class at the local village hall, none of them have any idea what lies ahead – each of them have their own reasons for taking up pole dancing, whether it be to restore confidence in their body, get a guy, keep a guy, lose weight, or embark upon a potential new career.
However, when one of the women receives some devastating news, the others soon pull together and decide to turn their new skill into a fundraising event. As each of the women’s stories unfold and unravel, they share laughter and tears in this hilariously sad and ultimately moving play, a call to all women, celebrating strength through adversity.
Auditions are open to Women aged 18+ to play the following roles:
- Trisha: (To play aged 30+) Attractive, Perfectionist, Tightly-Wound, Well Dressed, Everything must be Immaculate.
- Bev: (To play 30+) Larger than life, Curvy and Outrageous, Bev has a wild sex life and isn’t afraid to share about it.
- Faith: (To play 25-35) Shy, mousy, naive, easily intimidated by the other women.
- Sarah: (to play 50+) Prim, Proper, very moral.
- Rita: (To play 35+) Brassy, loud mouthed, hard edged.
- Gabby: (to play 25-40) Sexy, comfortable in her own skin, pushes limits, Pole dance instructor.
Female identifying actors of all genders, races, abilities and experience levels are encouraged to audition. Actresses must be comfortable with moving, comedic sexual themes, mild language and appearing in (character appropriate) lingerie. Rehearsals will be Tuesday evenings. The show will run May 26, 27, and 28, 2022.
