This weekend’s roundup includes the city’s first coffee festival, a comedy roast, and of course, lots of live music.

Friday

The Jim Axelrod Big Little Band plays Fredericton Inn. You’ll hear songs made famous by Billie Holiday, Ray Charles, Dutch Mason, the Downchild Blues Band, and more. 6:30 p.m. $10.

Body Paint at The Capital. Body Paint returns to the complex to bring their new rave style funk rock show to Fredericton. It’s a rock show at a club like you’ve never been to before! 9 p.m. $10.

Holly Rees (UK) + Keegan D + Marie-Ange feat. Not Now, Madame! At Grimross Brewing Co. Holly is an indie-folk singer-songwriter who grew up in the moors of the Durham Dales in the North East of England. Her 2017 debut EP ‘Ilex’ launched her musical career with support from BBC 6 Music and a feature on Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape. 8 p.m. $5-$10.

The First Roastgiving at Klub Khrome. Join Live Stand-up Comedy for a scorching roast comedy event. The1st Roastgiving featuring the sharpest comedians from all over the province. They’ll be carving-up the turkeys until one comic remains. See who will be victorious in this relentless battle for the title of New Brunswick roast champion! Hosted by newcomer Taylor Lakeport. 7:30 p.m. $7.50-$10.

Mitch Rayner at The Tipsy Muse Café. An encore Muse performance from a special young talent, and we’re glad to have him back. Catchy tunes and gripping storytelling go. 7 p.m. $8.

Hotel California: Original Eagles Tribute at The Playhouse. When the Eagles stopped to catch their breath a few decades ago, Hotel California became a pioneering journey through their history-making music that has taken them around the globe and thrilled hundreds and thousands of Eagles fans. The experience of a Hotel California show isn’t just about the band- it’s about celebrating the music and the memories, and the band gets the audiences involved and on their feet. 7:30 p.m.

Saturday

The Stratified at The Tipsy Muse Café. The Stratified is a genre-bending band from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada that fuses traditional Maritime folk sounds with alternative rock. 7 p.m. $10.

Carinae (USA) + Chillteens (NB) + Property (NL) at Empire. Carinae are back with a new album and a headlining slot at this all-ages event. Bring your ears, your enthusiasm and a friend. 8 p.m. $10. 

Just a Little Light at Wilser’s Room. An evening of Grateful Dead music, live before your very eyes. 8 p.m. $8.

Home Bass Fredericton at The Capital. A night of electronic music featuring Bleum, Lewcid, Fractal Code and many more. 10 p.m. $12.

C A Jackson and Glen Love at Grimross Brewing Co. C A Jackson is returning to Grimross on the evening of Saturday, Oct 12, sharing a show with his old friend Glen Love. Two styles of guitar playing sure to confuse and amuse. 8 p.m. $10.

Freddy Beach Coffee Fest at Picaroons Roundhouse. Come try samples of local delicious coffee, meet other coffee enthusiasts, and experience interesting activities. All proceeds go to the Fredericton Homeless Shelter! 8-11 a.m. $5.
