willieGet ready to stomp along with Willie Stratton Country Swing Revue as they gallop into your town on their 2016 Spring Tour. Willie and his band kick off the tour in Toronto, playing The Painted Lady April 29, and an official CMW showcase May 3 at 10 pm at the Dakota Tavern. Other Ontario dates include stops in Orillia, the In The Soil Festival in St. Catherine’s, and Peterborough May 7. Heading back East, they play Montreal May 8, Trois Rivieres May 9, FrederictonMay 10, and Sackville May 13. If you like honky tonkin’, boot stompin’, guitar pickin’ damn hot country jazz music then you are in for a treat when Willie and his posse swing by your town.

Willie Stratton has been making quite a racket in his hometown of Halifax over the past couple of years, and the wise guy is finally getting a move on and taking his music to a larger audience. With the help of an incredibly talented posse comprised of Anna Wedlock on fiddle, Jill Chambers on bass, and Zach Crawford on steel guitar, Willie and his little swing orchestra create some of the best damn hot country jazz that you can cut a rug to. Drawing inspiration from sources as wide as the lonesome sounds of theSons Of The Pioneers, to the ripping lines of Diz and Bird, these cow-boppers are sure to entertain and get you movin’ while they’re at it. The group hollars, picks, bows, and slaps their high-energy concoction into a single microphone, the old way, ’cause it just sounds right.
