Theresa Malenfant will be performing four shows throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia during February to celebrate her upcoming 60th birthday.
Theresa Malenfant has been a blues staple across the country for 39 years. To celebrate her upcoming birthday, Malenfant will be playing shows in Miramichi, Fredericton, Moncton and Truro.
Special guest, Juno award winner Garrett Mason, will join Malenfant for these shows and Scott Medford and The Instigators, her band of 17 years, will be backing her up. There will be revered guests from the East Coast blues scene at each show, including the Terry Whalen Band, the Quinn Bonnell Band, Keith Hallett, Matt Roy and the Ginger Kings, the Mark Green Band, John Campbelljohn, Shrimp Daddy with Carter Chaplin and Barry Cooke.
Malenfant is a native of Dieppe, NB, and first came to prominence singing alongside Dutch Mason at the Lafayette Club in 1979. She has released six albums since, receiving such honours as the 1995 ECMA for best female vocalist and the 2015 Maple Leaf Blues lifetime achievement award. Her tuneful blues has also made its way across the continent and to Europe. Not content to rest on past laurels, Malenfant will begin recording a new album in the spring.
