Halifax group announce new single and Eastern Canada tour dates.
Roxy & the Underground Soul Sound are an eight piece soul-funk band from Halifax, NS who take classic soul sounds of the 60s and 70s and put their own spin on the recipe of groove. Fronting the seasoned band that sets the dance floor on fire is Roxy, a five-foot firecracker of funk. The vocal powerhouse delivers soulful, straight from the heart tales of love won and lost. Mighty, direct, and oh-so-funky, these are songs that bring an authentic yet refreshing take on the sounds of yesteryear.
“Let’s Work It Out” is a follow-up to the band’s debut LP, Don’t You Know?, which was produced by award-winning musician and songwriter, Erin Costelo. The album earned the group two Music Nova Scotia Awards in 2015, New Artist Recording of the Yearand Urban Recording of the Year, and also lead to the band being voted Halifax’s Best R&B Artist by The Coast’s Best of Music Poll that year.
