Music•Musique NB launches province-wide survey aimed at past and potential clients of the MID Program.

In May of 2017, the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture has transferred the administration of its Music Industry Development (MID) Program to Music•Musique NB (MNB). As a first step in evaluating the program, MNB have just announced a province-wide survey aimed at past and potential clients of the MID Program.

“The music industry is in constant flux,” says Jean Surette, executive director of MNB, “and we want to ensure that the investment program stays current and relevant. We hope that this initial survey will lay the groundwork for the focus groups convened later this year.”

The findings produced by the survey will help guide the program’s future direction by identifying the needs, priorities and issues that relate to the artists and the industry.

The current MID program has three major components which offers financial support to the music industry in New Brunswick, namely Sound Recording, Market Access and Emerging Artists.  Individual musicians, groups and businesses can access a maximum of $10,000 per fiscal year (starting on April 1st).
