Rebeca Lane Visits Fredericton on First Canadian Tour

Acclaimed Guatemalan hip-hop artist and poet, will be performing in Fredericton as part of the Mestizo Soul – Identity and Rights Tour – November 1.

Rebeca’s music deals with her womanhood and imposed heterosexuality, as well as colonization and militarization of her native land. She has released three albums – her most recent in 2016. Mestizo Soul looks at identity, rights, and struggles for justice and peace.

Rebeca has toured extensively throughout Europe and the Americas during the past five years and is excited for her first Canadian tour.

“I want to share the experience of Central American women,” says Lane. “This tour is an opportunity to strengthen ties of solidarity with people in Canada.”

On November 2, Rebeca will give a talk in George Martin Hall, Room 304. St. Thomas University from 1 – 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
