Halifax, Nova Scotia’s Hello Delaware take a break from recording new material to play dates in New Brunswick and Ontario this month.
Hello Delaware know how to make an impression. When the band’s debut My Mistake was released back in 2016, they were named Music Nova Scotia’s New Artist of the Year and received an East Coast Music Award nomination for Pop Album of the Year. That’s a pretty serious introduction.
Since that release, the band have spent the past few years touring and writring new music. They’ve played with countless bands including Hollerado, The Glorious Sons and The Wooden Sky; have toured the country; and even made it overseas to play shows in Estonia, England and Wales.
The band is currently working on new music with producer John Mullane (In-Flight Safety) with hopes of releasing new music in 2020.
As vocalist Dana Beeler explains, the time between releases has had a positive effect on the group, allowing time for growth on all fronts.
“This new record and our stage show is US,” said Beeler. “We’ve worked really hard as a band, as a whole to get a fun, and weird thing happening that I think people will be excited to listen to. When we put My Mistake out, we were more acquaintances than friends, but we’ve spent the last almost four years in a lot of small spaces together from the back seat of my Hyundai Accent to airplanes to hotel rooms halfway across the world. All that time and lack of space has really made us a better band, and I think that comes out in this new record, and our live show. I think when we started, this was my project and they supported it, but it’s really evolved into a solid unit.”
Hello Delaware will make one stop in New Brunswick on their way through to Ontario before heading back overseas later this year for dates in England and Germany.
